Wondering who actually gets you, Aquarius?
Who is Aquarius most compatible with?
In the traditional geometry, Aquarius shares its element with Gemini and Libra: the trines, the most harmonious angle. Aries and Sagittarius sit a friendly sextile away, Leo is directly opposite, and Taurus and Scorpio are square, the angle of friction. That's the Sun alone; Venus, Mars and the Moon tell the rest.
You're here because of someone.
Still keeping everyone at arm’s length? Your Venus might be why.
Your sun sign gives every Aquarius the same short list. Your card is worked out from the day, the minute and the place you were born.
Every Aquarius reads this page. Only your card knows you.

Aquarius in love, in the old books
The traditional portrait: the same for every Aquarius.
Aquarius, in the old portrait, falls in love with a mind. Friendship first, often for years, then something more, on its own terms. Traditionally an Aquarius needs space, honesty and a partner with ideas of their own, and has no patience for jealousy or rules made for the sake of it. Try to own one and it leaves the room, politely.
The old books give Aquarius the other air signs, Gemini and Libra, and the fire signs Aries and Sagittarius a sextile away. Leo sits across the wheel, the star to Aquarius's crowd. With Taurus and Scorpio, the squares, nobody blinks.
Aquarius’s twelve pairings
Trine Harmonious, in Ptolemy’s terms
Four signs apart, 120° on the wheel: a trine, the classic easy pairing inside one element. Easy is lovely. Is easy what you came for?
Sextile Harmonious, in Ptolemy’s terms
Two signs apart, 60°: a sextile, the friendly angle between elements that get along. The old books call it an open door. Somebody still has to walk through it.
Opposite Opposition: two ends of one axis
Six signs apart, straight across the wheel: opposites, 180°. Everything you aren’t, sitting right across the table.
Square A hard aspect, since Ptolemy
Three signs apart, 90°: a square, the angle of friction. Rub two sticks together long enough and see what happens.
Same sign A conjunction, the first of Ptolemy’s aspects
The same sign twice: a mirror. Tradition says a mirror is easy to read and hard to argue with. Do you like what you see?
Semi-sextile A minor aspect, added long after Ptolemy
Next-door neighbours, 30° apart: a semi-sextile. Side by side on the wheel, and different in every way the old system counts: element, mode and polarity. Tradition shrugs and calls it awkward kin.
Quincunx A minor aspect, added long after Ptolemy
Five signs apart, 150°: a quincunx, the angle that never quite lines up. Different element, different mode. Astrologers say it's the pair that keeps straightening the same picture frame.
Why do your friendships go deeper than your romances?
Two Aquarius born a week apart can love in completely different ways. These four lamps are why, and your card reads every one of them.
-
Venus · how you love
How do you love, and how do you want to be loved?
That's Venus. It never strays far from the Sun, so an Aquarius's Venus can only sit in Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces or Aries. Two people with the same sun sign can want completely different evenings.
-
Mars · what you want
Why do you fight about the same thing every time?
That's Mars: desire, temper, the way you chase what you're after. It can sit in any of the twelve signs, so two Aquarius born a season apart can want, and fight about, completely different things.
-
The Moon · what you need
Why do they feel like home one day and a stranger the next?
That's the Moon: what you need when the door's shut and the day's gone wrong. It changes sign every two and a half days. If their Moon falls in your sign… well.
-
The descendant · who you’re drawn to
Why do you keep falling for the same type?
That's your descendant, the edge of the seventh house: the sign setting in the west at your birth minute. Tradition reads it as the partner you keep noticing. It needs your birth time and place.
Two people. Two cards.
Print yours. Then gift them a ticket: they type in their own birthday, and the machine prints theirs. Lay the two side by side and compare Moons.
Your personalized card prints in minutes. $9.95 + tax · What do I get?
For entertainment and self-reflection. Astrology and numerology are traditions, not science.
